Happy October! This email gives you information about our next all members meeting with shadow housing Minister Emma Reynolds, details about the TUC march and what we're doing in West Ham to make sure the next government is a Labour government.
Winning the General Election
The 2015 general election will be won or lost in some of the key marginal seats around the country. We're paired with our near neighbours - Ilford North to get Wes Streeting elected as their Labour MP. Up until the new year we'll campaign in Ilford North on the second and fourth Saturday of the month - beginning this Saturday 11 October.
We'll meet at Fairlop station (on the Central line) at 2pm or 1.30pm at Forest Gate Youth Centre, Woodgrange Road, E7 0DH. Contact is John Gray.
Ilford North - future dates

25 October 2pm Fairlop stn (or 1.30pm Forest Gate Youth Centre if cars/drivers available)

We're also be hosting a phone bank on Wednesday evenings at 306 High St, Stratford. And we'll also help out our old friends in Thurrock constituency and we'll be spending a few Thursday evenings in Bermondsey and Old Southwark.
If you want to get rid of the Tory/Lib Dem government please come and join us - let Julianne know if you'd like to know more.

Labour is finished as the party of the ordinary working man. It’s been years since I’ve heard anyone saying one good word about the Labour party. People like you haven’t a clue what is really going on. You carry on regardless. Almost all new jobs available only pay the minimum wage, it’s not unusual for 100 people to apply for 1 dish washers’ minimum wage job, criminal record check and you must have a health and safety dish washing certificate into the bargain. All this on a zero hour contract.
Atos, workfare, benefit sanctions, food banks, NHS cut backs, bedroom tax, all the horrible policies you complain the Tories are doing were started by the Labour party, your party. You can’t see it or fail to see it but we see it. You represent nobody but your own little clique. I don’t know what world you live in but it’s certainly different from mine. Actually, no matter how much I hate the Tories, no matter how cruel their policies are, they are still better than your party. You are the enemy of the working poor.
Hi "anon"
I think you are being silly but this is typical of the lazy "do nothing but moan" Newham opposition.
When I knock on doors in Newham (and elsewhere) I am humbled by the support that Labour gets.
I also work every single day with ordinary working class people dealing with pretty serious problems and issues. I am sure you don't.
Labour does need to change and I think it is doing so.
You lot don't really hate the Tories - you are their fifth columnists.
If we didn't have the stupid hard left in this country - wreaking and splitting anything positive in the movement - imagine what we could achieve.
