Nick Clegg and David Cameron: separated at birth?
"Listening to Nick Clegg’s speech I am struck by the fact that I could imagine David Cameron giving more or less exactly the same speech, almost word for word.”
Iain Dale: Leading Tory blogger.

"Labour Bloggers fight the Coalition"
Labour blogger Mary Honeyball MEP has organised this fringe at Labour Party Conference.
I am also taking part and am looking forward very much to it.
Apart from me, of course, there is a really good panel!
Hope you can make it as well?
Can blogging make a difference? I think so...but there again, I would say that....

"CCTV footage reveals shocking cruelty"
"POLITICAL activists reacted with fury today when Sky News broadcast CCTV footage of an innocent political party being unceremoniously dumped in a wheelie bin.
“Well, no-one was looking and no-one seemed to care anyway,” said the unnamed brute (David Cameron, 44) who carried out the crime. He was seen initially to offer friendship and affection to the party, before quickly opening up the bin and throwing it in when it was least expecting it.
The party remained in the wheelie bin awaiting rescue. But no-one bothered.
Nick Clegg is 30. At the very most".

"Many Conservatives are disappointed and frustrated that after 13 years in opposition, up against a dreadfully unpopular Labour leader, in the middle of the biggest economic slump for 70 years, Dave still couldn’t win an overall majority.

Lazy Sunday afternoon catch up
This morning I had a lovely lie-in followed by a gentle jog around the park. No stalls to set up, no campaign meetings, no leaflets to deliver and no door knocking or tele-canvassing. Bliss. I’m busy instead catching up on emails and RSS feeds so I have only just come across this entertaining election day Youtube message from Labour MP and blogger Tom Harris via Socialist Unity.
Speakers or headphones on.

Canning Town Voter ID
I was out tonight campaigning in Canning Town with West Ham Labour Party members Bryan Collier and Ahmed Noor. Byran is a UNISON member who use to be a member of my 3rd favourite branch, Lambeth Local Government! I must have a chat to him some time about the “Levithan Witch hunter”.
While Ahmed is I am reliably informed the son of the first Asian shop keeper in Green Street.
There were a large number of Newham “Team Labour” canvassers out tonight. I was leading our team and wished I bought a torch since it was so dark I was sending them to the wrong door numbers. Yet another reason for my firm belief that political campaigning is ideally a summer sport. The response tonight from voters was again very good.
Blogging Labour MP Tom Harris posted yesterday a really sensible article on political canvassing.
