Covid deaths by country? What a puerile statistic. Is that how you measure performance?

John.. are you really so confused by statistics? It's like you are saying there are more people unemployed in the UK than in Fiji..? Whilst this is certainly true there are are only 800,000 people living in Fiji but 68m in the UK..
Saying the UK has more Covid deaths than any other country is clearly an irrelevant statistic. Can understand this?

its crude but telling

Anon (19:16) - those statistics only refer to the last 14 days.

JG (21:16) - those statistics refer to totals, but not per adjusted for population size.

I have no idea who statista are. They have statistics for deaths 'per million'

https://www.statista.com/statistics/1104709/coronavirus-deaths-worldwide-per-million-inhabitants/

Even then, statistics can be misleading and need to be adjusted. Newham has a young population, but if the same number die, as another area, which has exclusively older people, then you coudl argue Newham is doing a lot worse. Also, what is the support for people who get COVID. I read in the Newham Recorder, long ago, that husband was sent home, but he lost his fight.... Where was Boris, was kept in hospital to be monitored....

age related mortality is important but this one seems helpful https://www.statista.com/statistics/1104709/coronavirus-deaths-worldwide-per-million-inhabitants/ international deaths per million of population as 16.12.20 but not age weighted
