Developer defends plans to put social homes in blocks serving as a ‘noise buffer’

A dreadful story reported in "Inside Housing"

"Developer Lovell has defended itself after sparking an outcry by describing blocks of flats containing most of a proposed Bristol development’s social homes as a “noise buffer” between industry and other housing".

This story is behind a paywall so problem if you do not subscribe to Inside Housing (they have to pay their way with subscribers)

I am not sure if Lovell deny the accuracy of this story. Check out the "free to view"  Bristol Post coverage of the wider campaign against this development.

The people buying those new houses are paying for those social housing. They may call it developer contribution, but ultimately, it is those new homes owners, who have mortgages themselves their necks, who are paying for those homes. They have to pay via S106, Community Infrastructure Levy, Affordable housing .....

S106 is supposed to pay for those schools, GP surgeries, libraries..... Most councils spend the money on other things....

Is it it fair they pay for those new homes and then have to have a view of the factory too?
They seems to be building homes, in appropriate places these days.

I know in East London, of people in social housing, who cause ASB problems. They remarks, they have paid for those homes and still face issues..... throwing fried chicken bones out of balcony windows....
