“A day in the Life of Joe Middle Class Republican” by John Gray

I first posted on the original article by my name sake (no none relative) here. I have a google alert which brought this YouTube clip by US radio presenter Thom Hartmann.

Bearing in mind what is going on over the pond in the States at the moment over Obama’s health reforms I thought it will interesting to post this new recital. As well as the justifiable fuss being made over here about this.

First, I am not the John Gray who wrote this.

Nearly all the stuff that John Gray talks about is related to government regulation not the government actually running things. And even that regulation has been seriously flawed. Just to name a couple: Most of the water is tainted in some way of another; Recalls on drugs, that passed FDA approval, happen often.

Hi John
This is not the John Gray who wrote the original article either (this is confusing). Welcome to John’s Labour Blog! How is Chicago this morning? London is warm and fairly bright but with chance of rain later (a typical British summers day in fact).

I think that the article by our namesake is more than a little “tongue in cheek” but it makes the point that there is an important role for collective solutions and responses. As another John put it

"No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manner of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee".

In honour of my long lost cousin I thought it’s about time that I raised the level of my comments on this blog with a little bit of proper poetry!

Mind you - I’m going back to Trot bashing in next comment (it’s a Brit thing John – you don’t have any out there. Hoover shot them all).

John Gray of Johns Labor Blog please get off the web your a cancer in Newham that needs to be gotten rid off.
You bring nothing of worth & JUST PAIN TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF THE BOROUGH!

This man is just in it for himself like the rest of the Labor party in Newham. He has no real interest in community or the health and wellbeing of this community or other surrounding it.

I look forward to his reply to this. He'll make out that we are all nutters because we don't follow his train of thought. He and what he calls his comrades will be the downfall of Newham. It's already falling and he will just be there to see it finish with a big smile on his face thankful that no other party got in except his lover the Labor party. The party that brought Newham and the rest of the country to it's knees.

I hope you sleep well John, your blog is a complete joke and is a shameful look into what Labor really means locally and nationally

A none political commenter, but interested online studier.

Hi Anon
Stop being so silly. Don’t you realise how ignorant you appear by making such comments in this way? You are giving Newham a bad name by such stuff and nonsense.

Have a go at me by all means but please, please try to put forward an argument for crying out loud. I realise you are some sort of a Tory boy so I don’t expect anything too considered or intellectual but ... Mike, sort him out won’t you?

Thanks John. You gave the answer I expected you to give. If someone is against you it's a Tory! Change the record and please realise that not everyone who's see's the negative side to the Newham Labour movement and your strange ramblings is even part of a political party. I've read many of your blogs and have heard some interesting stories of your tactics at local campaigns e.g. Royal Docks and Norwich. You do seem to have some poison in you. And it scares me that you live and follow LB Newham Labour.

I shan't comment again as I will never read this blog again! My eye sight has already gotten worse after the 2 times I've visited.

Hi anon

I'm sure when you reflect upon things you will change your mind and we can count on you as a Labour promise next May!

Bye, bye - all the best.
