So as well as a return to recession we have the return of people who think that murdering working class teenagers is a good and noble thing. Last night in Northern Ireland two unarmed soldiers were slaughtered by “dissident republicans” while they were waiting for a Domino's Pizza delivery. Four other men including the Pizza delivery team (no doubt seen as "collaborators") lie seriously wounded.
Tonight I fear so called “loyalists” will be gleefully digging up remote farmland to retrieve long hidden caches of weapons. They will be excited at the thought that murdering other teenage working class youngsters in “revenge” is to them also a good and noble thing. No doubt some innocent Catholic taxi driver or a minibuse full of teenagers back from a Hurley competition could end up being slaughtered.
Of course that is what the murderers want to happen. They want more working class kids in their own community to die in order to provoke a “backlash” against the Peace Process. This is total political madness.
I hope before this happens the brain washed cretins who carried out this attack will be soon rounded up by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) with the active help of nationalist politicians and the wider community. The troops themselves must remain in their barracks.
If former IRA commander now Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness can laugh and joke with Ian Paisley he can help the PSNI stop further mass slaughter.

These lunatics would shoot Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness
Sinn Fein have had serious problems with a small minority of mainly southern based republicans
so i doubt if he knows who they are
The real IRA are like INLA trots with a gun
The nationalist people have spoken in the North and they want Peace, they also want a united Ireland - but not via the gun.
these bandits are probably not even from the six counties, the community that will no doubt pay the price for these neadless murders.
The troops themselves should be withdrawn entirely. The continued presence of the British Army gives those who seek to undermine the peace process something to rally around. As for Martin McGuiness he has condemned the attack and it is clear what Sinn Fein's position is
Hi Anon
The IRA is still active and organised. It will have information about who carried out these attacks and supplied the logistical support. I hope they do what McGuiness and Adams are publically calling for.
You are absolutely right that the Nationalist community have clearly decided that the only the road to independence is by the ballot box.
Hi Sean
This is not going to happen – not least because if it did the Peace Process would fall apart since the Protestant community will then feel “betrayed”. Calling for such a thing in these circumstances will only give succour to terrorists (they will think they are winning the argument).
Even if the troops did leave then the dissenters would only “rally” around something else.
John I fundamentally disagree with you thats life.Part of the peace process was demilitarisation, the PSNI are there to maintain law and order not the army and to obtain/maintain the trust of both communities. The army never have been nor never can be part of the solution in my opinion, they are part of the problem.
Hi Sean
The lads murdered the other night while collecting their pizza were ordinary working class sappers in a Royal Engineers regimental depot. One of them was a BME Londoner. They were in a long standing garrison base and not at all part of the local “law and order” apparatus. This was just pure gangsterism and in my view you should have condemned these vile murders – without question.
The PSNI officer shot in the back of the head while coming to the defence of an apparently frightened and crying woman was part of that apparatus. He was a public servant trying to maintain “law and order”. No doubt his widow and kids will be eternally grateful that the Army special recon regiment was not called in sooner to help the PSNI (it appears many had been pressing for this support for a long time).
Don’t agree or disagree with me Sean, do the right thing and just condemn this fascist scum. It’s not a time for yes, but, no, but.
John where in my comment did I seek to justify these attacks? As for the implication that I am tacitly supporting these actions its unpleasant at best. It's sadly all to typical of my experience of you on this website
Hi Sean
Your silence is deafening.
Now is your chance. Make a 4th comment and actually condemn these murders.
You won’t will you? You are just far too bigoted to do so. Run away Sean to your comfort box and complain loudly how horrible that big bad John is.
We are not rowing about our usual pointless "students union" indulgences - this stuff actually matters.
Not running anywhere but certainly not going to respond to someone who wants to throw around words like bigoted when someone has a different point of view. So you have no worries I shall take my mixed catholic/presbyterian Irish family background off your website for good. Perhaps you could learn a lesson from the North of Irleand peace proces that of learnign to listen and hear what people are saying rather than hear what you want to hear them saying
Bye, Bye Sean - see you at LGC. You've now had 4 opportunities to condemn the murders of 3 public servants and you have chosen not to do so.
and sean was quite right - why should we sit here from our lofty perch and condemn everyone.
He was not saying he condones violence but why should he specifically condemn it.
The army are a part of the problem
Gray you show up your ignorance in this post
