All three seats are currently held by the Liberals however Labour came second in 2006. The previous incumbant resigned for not attending meetings due to "ill health".
The Lib Dem/Tory administration in Southwark only has a majority of 2 so a victory would obviously be good and it would bash Lib Dem morale for the GLA elections next year.
I’ll try to find out how London Labour Party activists can help out with campaigning (If anyone knows please post a comment )

ReplyDeleteI wouldnt support a guy with a haicut like that even if he is a Unite member!!
Recommend him a decent barber.
Ian
We have to watch ourselves Ian – this could be an age thing! I recommend Reids Unisex hairdressers in the Roman Road, Bow, East London. It’s a Greek Cypriot family run business who have been doing my hair for the last 10 years or so – Excellent “no. 2 and tapered at the back”
ReplyDeleteHe needs to invest in a comb.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair this photo was lifted from a local community website. I assume there is a better photo on his election leaflets(s)...which would also have some politics in it that people can have a moan at rather than his hairstyle....?
ReplyDeleteNo, the photo is spot on. If he can't get the small things right, what chance is there that he can get the big things right? Labour councillors are by definition so unspohisticated. He gets zero votes for style, and if there is any justice the same on polling day comrade.
ReplyDeleteLike Cameron? Old Etonian Style with no substance?
ReplyDeleteSo little substance that Brown has to nick his policies?
ReplyDeleteCricky Anon, you appear to be so naive? – Gordon is a patriot and if in the unlikely but theoretically possible event that the Tories come up with a policy that is actually positive then the government of the day should of course nick it.
ReplyDeleteEven from posh upper class people
Gordon is a a member of the Scottish Raj, and he can bang on about his Britishness all he likes no one is fooled anymore.
ReplyDeleteBless you Anon - you remind me why we need much better teaching of History in this country!
ReplyDeleteIUnfortunatly its not now just better teaching of history that is required! After more than ten years of labour mismanagament of education the Government has just had to announce that they are going to have to provide 7.5 million training places to improve the skills of the workforce - nearly half are to improve basic liiteracy and numeracy? What a dreaful indictment. Education, Education, Education! - pathetic!
ReplyDeleteHi anon
ReplyDelete"IUnfortunatly" methinks that you may need some of that "liiteracy" training because it is of course a "dreaful" indictment of the public school or Tory high school education you probably received.
