Credit Crunch Christmas
I thought I better post something seasonal...and it's a nice and catchy tune.
Conservative spokesman...That any Government would even consider imposing swingeing interest rates on unemployed people in the middle of a recession is just extraordinary. It’s a sign that this Government is utterly out of touch with what is really going on in Britain.’ And Liberal Democrat Treasury spokesman Vince Cable said: ‘This proposal is perverse and inhumane. The principle of social funds is that they are interest-free to help people cope with emergencies.’...You sir are a joke
Hi Anon You shouldn’t believe all you read. Of course governments should consider barmy ideas - then discard them as necessary. The really interesting idea around this proposal which has been ignored by the Tories and Saint Cable is the role that credit unions and the post office could play. Wouldn’t it be better if people had access to their local CU for emergency credit at affordable rates? Having such access to affordable credit and a real current account is absolutely vital to getting people out of poverty. This needs to be looked at further.
