CWU Postal Strike –Message of support from UNISON

UNISON General Secretary to CWU.
I have today written to Billy Hayes, general secretary of the Communication Workers Union, reiterating UNISON's full support for the strike action on Thursday and Friday 22/23 October.

No worker takes the decision to strike lightly and it is important in such difficult times that workers know they have the full support of their fellow trade unionists.

Our postal services are a vital public service and I know that you will share my feeling that the CWU share our battle to fight for publicly-owned and publicly-run services.

I'd ask all branches to contact their local CWU branch to find out how you can best show your support at a local level.

Hi Anon

and your point is..stuff the posties I suppose?

As a non political member of the public I think public support is NIL for this strike. When your jobs have gone don't come crying! The unions started as a force for good in the country now they are the MAFIA

Hi Anon

you are simply talking rubbish. Even I was surprised at the high level of support shown to the picket today at Bow.

I really don't think that people like you have ever supported unions. But why on earth do you pretend otherwise?

Bonkers?

Hi anon

Think not - one of the many reasons why the Post Office has never been 100% privatised is that UK business realise that if this natural monopoly was in priviate hands then they will be stuffed.
