Paradise Lost: SWP Purge

Following on last nights post on the very sad situation that Galloway and the SWP find themselves. I woke up today to find that the SWP central committee have expelled 3 senior activists for siding with George and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Nick Wrack, who is likely to be the new Respect National organiser, Kevin Ovenden and Rob Haverman have all been expelled for going “native” and supporting Galloway against the orders of SWP bosses John Rees and Lindsey German. This is all such a terrible shame.

Will the good news never cease? Apparently not: the SWP apparatchik John Rees has decided that Respect's National organiser position is no longer needed 'because it was an interim position until the election and now there is no election' (paraphrased). Well, er no - there is an election coming, it's just a bit further away than Rees thought.
It seems he just couldn't bear for his dire organising skills to be exposed by Matt Wrack getting the post - which he would have done with more than a third of the Respect national committee signing a letter supporting him.
How much longer can Rees hold on? Only until the SWP get round to pulling the plug on their doomed Respect involvement, and then it'll be back to their 'wreck or rule' approach and they'll be dissing it for the way its gone into decline since they dropped it.
Keep up the good work, John!
